Exchange Parent Aide (EPA) is a supportive and educational in-home services program for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-17. The program is designed to increase safety and reduce risk factors associated with child abuse and neglect. 

Families and caregivers will be provided with individualized support, including:

  • Assessment of family needs and dynamics
  • Problem solving and coping skills
  • Observing and modeling effective parenting
  • Education on child development and safety
  • Reduction of parental stressors and risk factors
  • Connection to community resources to meet basic needs
  • Connection to medical, dental, and mental health needs

Referral 

Families currently involved in DCP&P and living in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Salem, Sussex, and Warren counties are eligible for program services. Referrals are accepted through the Division of Child Protection & Permanency.
