Staff from LifelineED (OORP) are activated to provide recovery support services in local hospitals for individuals treated with Narcan (Naloxone) as a result of an opioid overdose. Our trained team of staff can also provide support services to those with both alcohol and other substance use disorders.

Services include:

  • Support for individuals upon discharge from the hospital with follow up phone calls and supportive services.
  • Linking individuals to treatment and recovery services.
  • Providing education to members of the community on overdose, prevention, and on obtaining Naloxone, a drug that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose when administered.
  • Providing additional resources to individuals interested in recovery and their family members.

Upon discharge from the hospital, a LifelineED Recovery Specialist is available to introduce individuals to the program and offer 8 weeks of follow-up recovery support. The LifelineED Navigator can meet with the individual within 24 hours of discharge to provide linkages to recovery resources including treatment, shelter assistance, and transportation. The goal of LifelineED is to help people stay engaged in recovery.
