"Dance to End Violence," a virtual Zumba session, is designed help to increase awareness of and to support survivors of domestic violence. Zumba love can help ease stress as it helps to overcome the wounds of our friends and neighbors with wounded heart from domestic abuse and violence. Join us as we unite to Dance to End Violence!

About Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is a pattern of intimidation, coercion, and violence. It is used to achieve power and control over a partner. Over time, this pattern often increases in frequency and severity. Abuse can be verbal, physical, emotional, sexual, or economic. Domestic violence does not discriminate. An abused person can be of any age, race, class, culture, religion, occupation, or sexual orientation.

Domestic violence can include:

  • Physical assault 
  • Sexual assault 
  • Intimidation 
  • Isolation 
  • Verbal abuse or harassment, including disrespectful or demeaning comments 
  • Threats against you or another family member 
  • Creating disturbances at your place of work 
  • Economic control 
  • Harassing telephone calls 
  • Stalking behaviors
  • Child abuse 
  • Destruction of property or harm to pets 

About DVAM
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. During this event, SERV aims to educate the community about domestic violence and prevention efforts. Spread information and resources about domestic violence on social media using #StandSpeakEmpower as you stand in solidarity with survivors.
