Project Backpack

Join us in promoting academic success!

By participating in Project Backpack you will help improve the chances for success for children in our community. With your donation of new backpacks and school supplies children and teens receiving services from Center For Family Services will have the opportunity to start the school year confident and ready to learn.

Consider starting a collection with your friends, family, business, or church! We wouldn't be able to support the youth we serve without the help of community members like you.

The 2017 collections begin July 10 and ends August 18th.

With your help we can support education for:

Preschool age children by providing

  • New picture books for 3 & 4 year olds
  • Monetary donations to fill tote bags with at least 4 picture books per child

Elementary school age children by providing

  • New backpacks
  • School supplies (crayons, pencils, glue sticks, etc.)

Teens living in our safe housing programs by providing

  • Sturdy backpacks for high school teens
  • School supplies (notebooks, pens, binders, etc.)
  • Monetary donations for books for teens enrolled in college

To start a collection or to make a donation, email Emily Flemming or call 856.964.1990 x110.

How to get involved
Start a Collection

Starting a collection is easy and a lot of fun! Its one of the best ways to get involved with Project Backpack as a local company and a fantastic opportunity to make a big impact on local children and teens starting the school year.

Each year we work with local businesses, organizations, schools, and places of worship to provide the most essential back to school items. If you're interested in starting a collection we will provide you with a collection box and promotional materials to help spread the word.

Make a Monetary Donation

We gratefully accept monetary and gift card donations to help support Project Backpack. In either case, we will use your gift to purchase new backpacks and school supplies for the drive. Gift cards to Target, Walmart, Staples, and VISA are most in need.

Donations and gift cards may be mailed to:
