On this International Day of Families, we celebrate the people who shape our lives through love, support, traditions, and connection. Families come in many forms - parents and children, grandparents raising grandchildren, foster families, chosen families, blended families, and caregivers who step in when support is needed. No two families look exactly alike, and that diversity is what makes our communities stronger.

Family traditions, whether big celebrations or simple everyday moments, help create a sense of belonging and stability. Sharing meals together, supporting one another through challenges, passing down stories, or simply showing up for each other can have a lasting impact across generations. Strong families help children grow with confidence, help adults feel connected, and help communities thrive.

At Center for Family Services, families are supported through programs designed to meet people where they are in life. From parenting support and family counseling to housing assistance, youth services, and behavioral health programs, services are built around the understanding that every family faces unique experiences and challenges. 

Programs like the Family Support & Prevention Services help strengthen families through parenting education, in-home support, counseling, and connections to community resources. Families in need can also access support through the Family Outreach Program, which provides free in-home services, crisis support, advocacy, and guidance for families working to overcome challenges. 

The mission of CFS is to support and empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve a better life through vision, hope, and strength. Its vision is for all people to lead capable, responsible, fulfilled lives in strong families and healthy communities.

This International Day of Families, let’s recognize and celebrate all families, honor the traditions that bring us together, and continue building communities where everyone feels supported, valued, and connected.
