Center for Family Services organizes Project Backpack to serve children and teens receiving services throughout their more than 70 programs. Project Backpack is a drive where donations of bookbags and school supplies are accepted to provide children from Pre-K through 12th grade a great start to their school year!

This gets the children excited for school and gives them a greater chance at succeeding because they will have everything they need!

Project Backpack happens each August, before the start of the academic year.

First, donations for backpacks and supplies are collected then, many Camden organizations volunteer to organize and fill the backpacks. This year, backpacks were prepared by an array of vounteers including Camden Promise Neighborhood staff, AmeriCorps VISTAs, Subaru, and a teen volunteer group.

This event is a wonderful way to keep students on track and give them the confidence that they are ready to tackle a new school year!
