Halloween this year in Camden has been eventful and plentiful. Events both inside and out put on by organizations in the city offered safe place for families to enjoy the festivities. Children of all ages could wear costumes, play with friends and get candy or other snacks for no cost.

A halloween event put on by the Camden County Police Department offered neighborhood kids a chance to connect with police officers, enjoy food, candy, music and parade around in their costumes! The CCPD also offered children without costumes a chance to get their face painted.

Other organziations and community centers held similar event inside. The Kroc Center offered Halloween treats and held an event while Dare Academy held a trunk or treat and also showed the movie Hocus Pocus and offered a haunted trail at a small fee.

The City of Camden also hosted an event the day before Halloween on the waterfront for Camden residents. They provided a trunk or treat as well, a movie in the Children's Garden, tours of the Adventure Aqaurium and had attractions like a mechanical dinosaur.

Rutgers law students also joined in on the fun! The Black Law Students Association held a pre-Halloween event which had games like musical chairs, arts & craft, free pizza and candy, a dance performance by a rutgers dance team and a bouncy house. In the pictures below you can see some of the fun they had!

These events show that Camden residents do not need to leave their city to enjoy a fun and safe Halloween. Events play a key role in the community in helping them come together, make memories and showing others that Camden is not what they see in the news. Events like this will continue just as Camden continues to develop themselves!
