On Friday, October 20 the final round and award ceremony for Camden Catalyst, a start-up pitch competition geared towards helping startups building their headquarter and succeed in Camden took place. Surrounded by sharks, the 4 finalists presented at the Aventure Aquarium on the Camden Waterfront. They were chosen from a larger pool of pitches given in Camden on Saturday, October 14. Pitches during the 2-day event included ideas focused on platforms for people to learn new skills or find a range of resources, tools to build and measure social impact, and ideas focused on improving health and well-being of community members. In addition to hoping to win the prize money, the event gave startups an opportunity to meet others in the industry and find potential investors.

Invincible City Farms, a Camden founded organization focused on addressing food insecurity, took the top prize of $25,000. Their vision is to bring healthy foods and jobs to America's worst urban food deserts. The food system not only aims to deliver healthy food at an affordable cost but also educates the communities about the benefits of nutrition foods.
