Coopers Ferry Partnership (CFP), Rutgers Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC), and Ofo are launching a bike-sharing program for the City of Camden, starting in May 2018.

Camden Bike Share will provide an affordable transportation option for the residents of the City. With approximately one-third of Camden households not having access to a car, this can be particularly useful. It will also promote an active healthy lifestyle. You can use them to go to the store, to work, or just for fun and exercise.

The Ofo bikes are dockless (they do not have dedicated docking stations), bright yellow and can be borrowed using a mobile application, for $1 each hour. The mobile phone application will also help you locate the nearest bike using GPS. You should never have to walk more than a few minutes to find one. The bikes can be ridden anywhere within the limits of the City of Camden. To sign up you just need a smart phone and a debit or credit card. Once you download the Ofo app, you’ll be ready to go!

To raise awareness for the Camden Bike Share and education the residents of Camden on how to use the bike system, there will be public engagement and outreach programs in the city. Some include:

  • Bike Sharing demonstration on April 28th at Rutgers Opening Day, 10am-4pm
  • There will be additional demonstrations this summer. Dates have not been set yet.
  • There will be an on-bike mobile outreach of groups of 3-5 students. Look for students with yellow t-shirts on the yellow Ofo bikes.
  • Dates for community presentations have not been confirmed yet.
