CAMDEN Gov. Chris Christie saw Pope Francis address the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C., Thursday morning as a guest of Rep. Tom MacArthur.

By Thursday afternoon, he was in Camden to join city officials in announcing a major development on the city's waterfront — a $700 million project he called "another concrete commitment from the business community" to help renew the beleaguered city.

Liberty Property Trust will purchase a 16-acre parcel along Camden's Waterfront, between the Adventure Aquarium and Campbell's Field. The planned complex will include 1.7 million square feet of office space, much of it in two large towers designed by renowned architect Robert R.M. Stern; 325 residential units; a hotel with 120 to 140 rooms; approximately 27,000 square feet of retail space; and several open public green spaces.
