For years, Center For Family Services has organized a holiday gift drive like no other. Working hand-in-hand with our dedicated program staff—those who support children and families every day—we make it our mission to ensure every child in our care is remembered and uplifted during the holiday season.

Our approach is deeply personal. Children are thoughtfully shopped for by staff members who know them best. For young people living in our group homes, staff carefully select gifts in the exact colors, styles, and sizes each child prefers. These teams know their personalities, interests, and needs, which ensures every present feels truly special and deeply meaningful.

Many of the children and teens we serve have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. The holidays, which are meant to be filled with joy, can be an especially challenging and emotional time. Our trained staff work tirelessly to provide comfort, stability, and moments of happiness. The smiles on children’s faces—and the gratitude expressed by parents and caregivers—are a direct reflection of the kindness and generosity of supporters like you.

For a teenager living in a safe home, the holidays can feel especially uncertain. A thoughtful gift can be a powerful reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for. Last year, many teens asked for gift cards. While some may view gift cards as impersonal, for these young people they were gifts of independence and choice—something every teen deserves. And, of course, what teen doesn’t love the excitement of a trip to the mall?

Families across New Jersey also felt the impact of your generosity. One parent of a 4-year-old boy shared her heartfelt surprise when her counselor selected the perfect gift—an Avengers action figure. When the child opened it, he asked with wide-eyed wonder, “How did you know I liked Avengers? That’s something I told Santa Claus!” Moments like these show how meaningful it is when a gift reflects a child’s unique personality.

These joyful experiences—and the sense of hope they create—are made possible by the year-round generosity of our community. Your support ensures that children and families feel cared for not just during the holidays, but every day.
