The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation aided in feeding over 400 Camden Families as part of the Get Ready Fest on Friday June 7th! The event which took place in the Antioch Church parking lot also had dozens of organizations come out to serve as resources to all attendees.
Along with providing vouchers for food boxes; free hair cuts, personal care items, books and lots of fun was also provided. The Philadelphia Soul Mascot was in attendance keeping spirits high under the hot sun, a DJ was on hand to provide tunes or line dances for residents to dance to and local organizations were steadily providing information on their next events or opportunities.
This annual event provides much more than just food, it is a community event where people can come to receive help and connect to others. It works to bring many social services to one place and the residents were all excited to come out!
