Miguel had the drive to become successful but he continued to hit roadblocks along the way. His troubles seemed to have a domino effect on his life, when one thing went bad, everything went bad.
“It was tough to provide for my children’s wants and needs without employment,” says the single father, “but then I heard about PowerCorps Camden.”
During his two terms of service with PowerCorps Camden Miguel grew immensely.
The program offers young Camden City residents the opportunity to revitalize public land in the city in a team-like setting while learning the skills necessary for future gainful employment.
“Because of PowerCorps I learned how to be a better man and a professional. I received the structure I needed in my life. Now I’m financially, emotionally, and spiritually stable.”
After completing his second term with PowerCorps Camden, this time in a promoted position as a crew leader, Miguel was hired full time with Camden County Municipal Utility Authority.
His future is brighter than ever.
“With the structure PowerCorps gave me, I see a bright light at the end of my road.”
