Qrew’s Nest is a community of teens who come together for two hours each Saturday during the school year to mentor and tutor elementary school children from Camden. For the first hour, the children are encouraged to love reading and experience fun through math games. The effort to strengthen the child’s academics is enhanced by the fact that the teen mentors form a special relationship with one child in the second hour of the program through special mentoring moments and reinforcing incentives.
Qaravana was created by Quixote Quest teens to address hunger issues - and other needs - that affect children in Camden, including children who may not have access to enough to eat over the weekend when school breakfast and lunch are not available. The program provides a reusable bag containing wholesome, non-perishable food items each Friday to children identified by families and school staff as food insecure. Qaravana also provides other supports to help meet basic needs for children in Camden. This is an ongoing service opportunity provided by Quixote Quest.
Dignity Qrew is a special age appropriate recreational program for senior citizens who are living in the memory care unit of a nursing home. A team of teens from Quixote Quest plan stimulating activities for these residents weekly to add to the quality of their lives.
