Notice is hereby given that Proposals for work required for the titled project will be received by Center for Family Services, and will be opened and read aloud at the project site, St. Aloysius Parish Center, 37 West Haddon Avenue, Oaklyn, New Jersey, at 2:00PM on Thursday July 24, 2014. Sealed proposals are invited and must include all labor and materials to complete the work. Work required by this project will be performed under a Lump Sum Contract. Work includes minor alterations to the building interior, including general construction, plumbing,mechanical, and electrical work. Exterior work includes modifications to the existing exterior stair.In addition to cost proposals, bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of the amount of the bid. A Consent of Surety to issue Performance and Payments Bonds and other exhibits must also be submitted with the bid. The project is subject to Davis-Bacon Act Prevailing Wage.

In addition to other required documents, each Bidder must also submit with their bid the following documents from the State of New Jersey’s Department of Treasury, Division of Building & Construction: (1) Notice of Classification indicating that they are qualified to bid on public work, and (2) Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts affidavit (Form DPMC 701), duly signed and notarized with the corporate seal affixed. Each bidder must visit the site of the proposed work to fully acquaint himself with conditions as they exist so that he/she may fully understand the facility, difficulties, and obstruction attending the execution of work under this contract. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the project site (St. Aloysius Parish Center, 37 West Haddon Avenue, Oaklyn, NJ) on Friday July 11, 2014 at 10:00AM. Parking is available at the rear of the building that is accessed from West Bettlewood Avenue.

Orders for the drawings and specifications must be placed with the Architect, Lammey & Giorgio, P.A. Please contact Tara Lyons at and provide Name of Bidder, Contact, email address, telephone, and fax numbers. All documents will be provided to bidders via email only. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate, on the forms supplied and as directed by Conditions and Instructions, in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the subject of the bid. Bids shall be delivered to the site of the bid opening. DO NOT MAIL BIDS OR DELIVER PRIOR TO THE BID OPENING.


Bidder questions must be forwarded in writing to the Architect (Attention: William P. Lammey, AIA) by email ( by no later than 5:00PM on Wednesday July 16, 2014. The Architect will answer questions in writing and will issue an Addendum for clarification to all bidders by no later than Friday July 18, 2014. The project duration is ninety (90) consecutive calendar days from the date of project award. Liquidated Damages will be assessed in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per day for each and every day in default of time. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids as it may appear in their best interest, and reserves the right to waive any defect or informality in any bid should it be in their best interest to do so.
