Event Date: September 23, 2017
Registration for the Empower 5k Run & 1 Mile Walk will open in April.
Take a stand against sexual and domestic violence! Join Center For Family Services and our Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) program for a 5k Run/1 Mile Walk to raise awareness and show your support for ending violence and abuse in our community.
Your involvement as a runner, walker, sponsor, or donor will support survivors and send the message that our community wants to put an end to sexual and domestic violence. Event proceeds will provide 24/7 crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and safe housing for victims of violence and their families. The 5k Run/Walk is the official kick-off event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, nationally recognized each October.
The 5k Empower Run & 1 Mile Walk has something for everyone! Register as an individual or as part of a team. For runners, the 5k will be professionally measured and timed with awards for different ages and genders. Walkers will enjoy a comfortable, scenic trail, and kids have the chance to participate in our 50 yard Dash event. Stick around after the run for complimentary food, live music, games, a 50/50 and awards for top runners!
Attendees may enter Washington Lake Park by the Hurffville Cross Keys Road entrance. Parking is available in Lots D & E.
Each year, individuals across Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties who have been victims of violence seek out the support of SERV to begin their journey towards healing and empowerment. Our highly trained and dedicated staff at SERV provide the tools and resources to make a survivor whole again. Your support and participation will help to expand and enhance the reach of services we provide through SERV that strengthen the lives of victims of domestic violence.
Your support will help enhance the following services for female and male survivors of sexual and domestic violence:
- 24/7 toll-free hotline
