First Financial Literacy Certification at the NJ Department of Children and Families
Fairfield, NJ - Earlier this year Kearny Federal Savings Bank presented an opportunity for the NJ Department of Children and Families to pilot a new computerized financial literacy program through EverFi, the leading technology platform to teach, assess, and certify in Financial Literacy, Student Loan Management, Digital Literacy, Substance Abuse and other life skill areas.
This new program sponsored by Kearny Federal Savings helped to enhance life skills programming at the Center for Family Services in Camden. "EverFi has given me the knowledge I needed to start saving for my child. Whether it is in a CD, or a standard savings account, I know that I have options and my child will be able to benefit from my knowledge," Allesandra Lamar, one of the EverFi graduates said.
This partnership is an example of how public-private joint venture can support critical services for the community and improve the lives of our younger generation.
