Education Coordinator


Center for Family Services is seeking an experienced educational professional for the Education Coordinator position within its Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership Program.  The Education Coordinator oversees the education content area for the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership program to ensure full compliance with Performance Standards.  This individual provides education resources to classroom staff, center managers, and volunteers and observes and monitors classroom activities and children’s records.    

 Duties and Responsibilities:

The Education Coordinator attends IEP meetings, home visits and parent conferences, attends CFFS HS and EHS CC Partnership meetings, and attends new and returning parent observation.  This individual understands Head Start Performance Standards, visits each center regularly to ensure that curricula used are aligned with the Head Start Child Outcomes Framework and New Jersey early learning standards, and participates in the completion of the annual Self-Assessment and PIR.  The Education Coordinator conducts classroom observations throughout the year, reviews and analyzes data on child outcomes, regularly checks student files to ensure the educational section is in compliance with Head Start regulations, assists teachers with behavior management as needed, and tracks that all staff have an individual professional development plan.  This individual provides educational information for the Head Start newsletter, assists teachers with maintaining an inventory of supplies, insures that all children receive developmental screening within 45 days of enrollment, and assures that results from screenings and evaluations are shared with parents and referrals and follow up is conducted as required.

Travel Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2-5 years of ECE management experience required, 2 years (minimum 24 credit hours in ECE) experience teaching children ages 0-4 years old preferred
  • TSG/CLASS/ITERS credentials preferred
  • Must meet current Head Start Mandates
  • Must maintain First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Excellent driving skills and current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
