Center For Family Services announces merger

Two leading nonprofit social services organizations are joining together to better serve New Jersey's southern region
Thursday, July 26, 2018

Center for Family Services and Family Service Association of South Jersey have formally agreed to merge operations, creating one of the largest nonprofit organizations in New Jersey’s southern region.

The merger plan has been approved by both organizations and will become effective October 1, 2018, with Richard Stagliano to continue to serve as the CEO of Center for Family Services.

“Joining forces with Family Service Association of South Jersey puts us in an even stronger position to deliver high-quality programs, expand existing services, and put effective practices into place to best serve the people in our community.”

The merger will enable the combined entity, which will be known as Center for Family Services, to have an operating budget of $65 million, more than 1,100 employees and serving over 60,000 people. The partnership strengthens the organizations' effectiveness, builds capacity, spreads best practices, and expands reach.

The agency will primarily serve New Jersey’s southern region including Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, and Salem counties, with some statewide services.

Programs include safe housing, addiction & recovery, counseling and behavioral health, family support and prevention, early child education, victim & trauma, and workforce development.

Cindy Herdman Ivins, CEO of Family Service Association, will join Center for Family Services on October 1, 2018 as one of the organizations’ Chief Operating Officers alongside Eileen Henderson and Merilee Rutolo. Together, they will oversee program operations and administrative functions.
