CAMDEN -- The ranks of the Camden County Police Department (CCPD) are growing, thanks to $1.8 million in federal grant monies that will allow it to add 15 new officers to the force.

The award, announced Tuesday by Rep. Donald Norcross, comes via a hiring program from the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

"This funding will enable the Camden County Police Department to continue its mission of being a national example of community policing at its best, just as President Obama remarked when he visited Camden City last year," Norcross said.
