CAMDEN, NJ—Camden City School District’s Acting Superintendent Katrina McCombs began a 90-day “Listen and Learn” tour this week, stopping by Yorkship Family School on Friday afternoon to hear the questions and concerns of parents, teachers and community members.
McCombs, who was appointed by the state board of education two weeks ago to serve a one-year contract as the district’s acting superintendent, has made the listening tour her first order of business as the temporary district chief.
“In order to do anything, I have learned you have to listen first. You have to engage the community,” McCombs said.
