Hispanic Heritage Month is time spent during September and October celebrating and recognizing the contributations of Hispanic and Latino Americans. In a months time we shine light on everything the Hispanic community has done and continues to do to be a part of and cause success for the nation of America.

From September 15th to October 15th we celebrate the culture and look at the ways in which they have changed America and all that they have put forth. Mayor Moran celebrated this year by hosting an event on the lobby of City Hall. The event included a caricature artist, art work, breast cancer awareness information and local organizations that catered to minorities. The event also Latino music and offered free ethnic food for all to share.

Mayor Moran spoke for a moment, he told stories about his family who migrated from Puerto Rico and spoke about how we all need to stick together and we are one community especially in a city like Camden where the Latino presence is high.

This month not only teaches us about the Hispanic culture, but also how much of a melting pot Camden or even America is. We are surrounded by different cultures and traditions yet we come together as one community and Nation.
