Today Congressman Donald Norcross hosted a Camden Works event, which was a fair with 50+ companies and stakeholders and even more people looking to join. The fair was designed like a career/job fair which also included training opportunites, volunteer positions, information about Camden companies and programs and awareness of upcoming events.
It was located at Rowan University Camden campus and the area in which it was held was packed with people looking for new opportunities. People were dressed to impress, had their resume in hand and was ready to answer and ask questions. Everyone walked away hopeful and the event's success could be measured in many ways.
Many people showed up on short notice, everyone was happy to be there, people got to find out what their community offered and most of all connections were made and potential was in the air.
Mayor Moran spoke about building strong men now so that we do not have to fix broken ones, prayers were said and Congressman Norcross spoke about how there is no shame in working with your hands.
Events like this is what makes Camden a great city to live in and work in, the care and concern of the people who lead is what will lead the entire city into greatness.
