More than 13,000 grandparents in Camden County have grandchildren living in their households, and 43 percent of them have primary responsibility for the children. TAG is designed to support three-generational families by addressing the whole family - unifying rather than fragmenting the different generations, and providing much needed
assistance, support, counseling and case management.
TAG connects families with services that they may not be aware exist within their community. TAG counselors work closely with families, helping them deal with serious issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, AIDS and other serious illnesses, sexual abuse and assault, mental illness, incarceration and involvement with state systems.
The Together Across Generations (TAG) Program offers free support groups two Mondays a month for grandparents and other relatives raising children. The support group meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Center For Family Services, 584 Benson Street in Camden, NJ. Limited childcare and transportation is available through the Center.
