In a creative partnership designed to prevent youth from becoming another number in a crowded juvenile justice system, Center For Family Services and the Paulsboro Police offer families a solution through the SAVE program.
Strategic Anti-Violence Elimination Program (SAVE) provides youth and their parents with a link between the police department and the social service community – diffusing crisis situations and reducing the risk of violence or delinquent behavior.
A Center For Family Services counselor has an office at the police station and offers crisis intervention, information and referrals to families daily from 3 p.m. – 11p.m., the time when most juvenile offenses occur.
Police can often refer youth at high risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system directly to SAVE, offering youth a chance to improve their situations, thus preventing recidivism.
