COPE II
COPE II is a mentoring program that provides trained and committed mentors to Camden County children between the ages of 13-15 who are high risk of entering into the Juvenile Justice System. With guidance and encouragement these children can make positive choices and work toward safe and healthy futures. Studies show that children involved with mentoring programs are less likely to begin using illegal drugs, consume alcohol, skip school or engage in acts of violence. Mentors can make a big difference in the life of a child. Get involved in mentoring and improve a child's future.
Mentors must be at least 18 years of age, and high school graduate, and reside in the Delaware Valley area. Mentors who have access to an automobile must show proof of insurance and have a good driving record.
Mentors can help a child:
- develop higher levels of self-esteem
- achieve greater academic ability
- improve behavioral and social relations
- grow into strong, confident adults.
