Referral Description Intro: 

Active recruitment for families dedicated to providing a safe, temporary home for children

Eligibility: 

Must be at least 25 years of age with a valid NJ license and have experience working with children. Must complete an extensive background check and meet the physical, mental, and emotional well bring to perform duties as a Shelter Parent. Must be able to provide a safe environment for child(ren) and demonstrate a positive attitude towards youth.

Serenity Children's Home

Serenity Children’s Home is a network of homes that provide a temporary shelter placement to youth involved with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Children ages 9-18 may stay up to 30 days, with the possibility of an extension, in a safe and nurturing home with the ultimate goal of family reunification.

Recovery Network For Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing Loss

The Recovery Network for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing outpatient program provides assessment, treatment, education, family therapy, case management and communication access to substance abusing individuals who are deaf, heard of hearing or who have hearing loss. All services are provided by staff that is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and culturally sensitive to the Deaf community. Treatment is an enhanced outpatient level of care and includes family therapy. A monthly Deaf 12-Step meeting is held in Voorhees.

Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative (CPSAI)

Our Child Protection Substance Abuse Initiative's top priority is the safety and well-being of children. By treating the alcohol/drug problems of the caregivers, we help provide a more secure environment for children.

YES (Youth Empowerment System) Healing Homes

The YES Healing Homes program offers community based long-term residential treatment for youth ages 13-17. High qualified therapists and counselors work closely with youth and families to provide diagnostic assesment, therapy, educational services, social skills training, and job readiness training.

YES is part of the Healing Homes Campus, providing a campus setting for treatment and services. The campus includes an eight bed home for boys, Michael's House, and a yet to be named five bed home for girls.

Residential treatment program provding long-term residential treatment for youth age 13-17

Referral Description Details: 

The YES facility offers a community based long-term residential treatment for youth ages 13-17. High qualified therapists and counselors work closely with youth and families to provide diagnostic assesment, therapy, educational services, social skills training, and job readiness training.  

Who Can Refer: 

The Division of Child Protection and Permanency, CMO, YCM, and Family Court if authorized by Perform Care.  Payment is through Medicaid.

OASIS Youth Services Program of Cape May County

OASIS Youth Services Program of Cape May County provides 24-hour emergency shelter to children age 10-18 offering a safe haven for those experiencing a personal or family crisis, as well as runaway, homeless, or abused children. OASIS seeks to provide a caring and healing home while children receive support and work on their future with the goal of family reunification. When this is not possible, we work to connect children with alternative, stable living arrangements.

Together Youth Shelter

Together Youth Shelter is one of the only short-term, walk-in shelters in southern New Jersey, providing 24-hour emergency shelter for runaway, homeless, and or neglected youth age 9-18. Together is a caring and healing home for children where they receive support and work on their future with the goal of family reunification.

Emergency shelter and safe housing for youth age 9-18

Referral Description Details: 

Together Youth Shelter provides temporary emergency shelter placement for runaways, homeless, abused, abondoned, or neglected youth in New Jersey.  Skilled counselors help children establish goals and support them as they return to a more stable home environment.

Camden Group Home

Camden Group Home provides the tools and resources necessary for male teens to build a strong foundation for a positive future.  As one of the only group homes serving male youth ages 14-18 in the southern New Jersey region,  Camden Group Home provides a safe home environment for young men to build self-sufficient futures.

Camden Group Home is a structured residential program for male youth for nine months to one year while offering counseling, education, and job readiness training.

Mother/Child Residential

Mother/Child Residential provides temporary housing for women age 18 -35 who are currently homeless and either pregnant or parenting one to three children age eight and under. Services include:

Temporary housing for homeless single mothers over the age of 18 who are pregnant or have young children

Referral Description Details: 

Mother/Child assists women with meeting educational goals, seeking employment, and locating permanent housing. In addition, women receive daily educational classes in nutrition, parenting, healthy living, home management, and communication skills.

Eligibility: 

Females 18-35 who are  currently homeless, pregnant, and/or parenting one to three children ages 8 and under. Women must be non-substance abusers and eligable for emergency assisistance through the County Board of Social Servics.
