Building Bright Futures

Allessandra’s childhood was filled with many obstacles.  By the time Allessandra was ready to graduate from high school, she found herself homeless.  It was then that Allessandra found Center For Family Services’ Camden DREAMS program.  Camden DREAMS provides housing, support, and counseling for young adults who may not have another safe place to live.  The program also provides case management and assistance with goal planning.

“The guidance and support I received at Camden DREAMS helped me improve my life in so many ways.”

Through the Center’s Camden DREAMS program, Allessandra was able to build a foundation for a safe, self-sufficient future.  “They are there for me.  At Camden DREAMS, I feel safe for the first time in my life.”

Despite the challenges and adversity she faced from her youngest years, Camden DREAMS gave Allessandra the opportunity to recognize her strengths.  Realizing she had a strong compassion for helping other young girls, Allessandra began working as a youth outreach worker and started a “Girl Chat” group to share advice with other girls.

Allessandra is now attending college at Camden County College to be a psychologist and she is also mentoring young girls helping them to build strong character, discuss goals, and establish healthy self esteem.  “I want to help young kids and teenagers persevere through the obstacles and hardships they face.”
