Evelyn Ginter has spent her life helping people. In January, Ginter joined the board of the Center for Family Services.
"I feel privileged to join the board because of the scope and the mission of our organization," she said.
"CFS stands for everything I've worked for in my life."
Ginter is a former board member of Mother/Child Residential in Woodbury.
She works for the Victim/Witness Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, where she has helped crime victims for nearly three years.
Her job is supporting crime victims through the legal process, including notifying them of hearings and helping them through difficult times.
Ginter was director of the PASA shelter, now the battered women's shelter, in Glassboro for 12 years.
Ginter is also a founder of the Woodbury Child Development Center, an independent child care service, in 1968.
"The center is still going and it has grown a lot. It was just a very small group of women getting together to start out," she said.
The Woodbury Child Development Center was formed by the Women's Interfaith Council when the women saw a need for child care in the area.
It now has a professional staff and serves more than 90 children, from babies to after school care.
Ginter earned a Masters in Social Services at Bryn Mawr College.
She lives in Woodbury and has three grown children and seven grandchildren.
